The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) works to ensure that the creators of technology mirror the people and societies who use it. ABI connects, inspires, and guides women in computing and organizations that view technology innovation as a strategic imperative.

This grant provides general support to the Palo Alto-based organization, helping women grow their careers and make significant contributions to technical fields. Examples of ABI’s programs include the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing in the U.S. and in India, which will serve close to 15,000 women in 2015; the Systers Pass-it-On-Awards, a biannual program to fund women in computing; and the BRAID program, which helps 15 colleges and universities recruit more undergraduate computer science majors who are women or students of color.
