The Emerging Bilingual Collaborative (the “Collaborative”) is a multi-funder effort working to improve educational outcomes for multilingual learners in PreK-through-3rd grade across California.

The Collaborative is a fiscally sponsored project of New Venture Fund (NVF), an intermediary that works to build a fair, healthy, and sustainable world for all people. Members of the Collaborative include the Heising Simons Foundation, California Community Foundation, Sobrato Philanthropies, James B. McClatchy Foundation, Silver Giving Foundation, and Kenneth Rainin Foundation.

This grant supports the Collaborative’s investments and grantmaking in educator preparation, educator development, and educator mobilization. These investments support California’s public education system to ensure Prek-3rd grade educators and administrators have access to––and can effectively implement––high-quality instruction for multilingual learners.
