$25,000

The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HVSF) raises awareness, encourages volunteerism, and promotes philanthropy to benefit the Hispanic community in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

This grant supports HVSF’s Latino Board Leadership Academy, in order to promote diversity among nonprofit leadership. The program trains Latinos on different aspects of board member stewardship, and facilitates placement with nonprofit boards whose missions align with the participant’s personal interests.

To date, the academy has graduated 314 fellows with a 75 percent placement rate on local nonprofit boards. In 2018, the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley plans to host two academies, one in Santa Clara County and one in San Mateo County.
