The world-renowned Violence Prevention Research Program (VPRP), housed at the Center for Violence Prevention Research, is a multi-disciplinary program of research and policy development at the University of California, Davis. VPRP conducts research to develop sound scientific evidence on the nature, causes, consequences, and prevention of firearm violence, disseminates the evidence, and promotes the adoption of evidence-based firearm violence prevention measures.

This grant supports firearm violence research, as well as recruitment and training opportunities for promising new researchers, including: 1) experienced investigators in related fields who are beginning work on firearm violence; 2) young investigators who have completed their education; 3) postdoctoral scholars; and 4) research data analysts.
