Join the 51 Pegasi b Fellowship, a Vibrant Community of Planetary Astronomers

The 51 Pegasi b Postdoctoral Fellowship, awarded by the Heising-Simons Foundation, is accepting applications through October 3, 2025.

The fellowship advances fundamental understanding of solar system science, exoplanet science, and other closely related topics in planetary astronomy. Every year, up to eight early-career scientists of significant potential are awarded three-year grants of up to $450,000 to conduct novel research using theory, computation, observation, instrumentation, and/or lab experiments. At the end of the fellowship period, fellows are able to apply for an additional year of support.

Since 2017, the program has supported 66 fellows and expanded to 28 host institutions across the U.S. During the fellowship’s annual summit, current fellows and alumni come together to discuss scientific research, attend professional development sessions and expand their network.
