51 Pegasi b Fellowship: Now Accepting Applications through October 1, 2026

The Heising-Simons Foundation’s Science program is now accepting applications for the 51 Pegasi b Postdoctoral Fellowship. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2026, at 2pm PT.

The fellowship provides early-career scientists with up to $492,000 over three years to pursue innovative research in solar system and exoplanet science, as well as other closely related areas of planetary astronomy. Fellows advance fundamental understanding through theory, computation, observation, instrumentation, and laboratory experiments. At the end of the three-year term, fellows may apply for an additional year of support. In addition to covering salary and benefits, the fellowship offers highly flexible discretionary research funding throughout the three-year grant. Fellows may apply to extend their support for a fourth year or, if they secure a faculty or permanent staff position in astronomy, apply for a grant equivalent to one year of funding.
