Californians for Justice (CFJ) is a statewide grassroots organization working for racial justice by building the power of youth, communities of color, immigrants, low-income families, and LGBTQ communities. Led by students, CFJ organizes to advance educational justice and improve our social, economic, and political conditions

This grant supports building resident power in the city of San Jose, California. CFJ is implementing several key activities to shift the narrative of marginalized youth and center students as leaders and power-builders in creating a just and equitable public education system, including: 1) strengthening and growing youth leadership and capacity of students at the San Jose regional chapter; 2) continuing to build alliances to leverage power to advance systems change for youth and hold elected officials accountable to youth-identified policy agendas; and 3) facilitating a professional learning network on relationship-centered schools and community engagement.
