Futuro Media is an independent news media organization founded in 2010 by 2022 Pulitzer Prize winner Maria Hinojosa. Based in Harlem, NYC, Futuro Media produces Peabody Award-winning Latino USA, In The Thick, Latino Rebels, Futuro Studios podcasts, and Futuro Unidad Hinojosa (FUH), a unit within Futuro Media that includes the IRE Award-winning Futuro Investigates and special projects. Futuro Media elevates the issues and voices of the historically marginalized with a newsroom that reflects the communities they cover. This grant provides general support for Futuro Media to continue producing compelling and illuminating journalism, and maintain and recruit top production talent. Latino USA is the longest-running national Latino news and cultural public radio program, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
