Journalist Jaeah Lee’s latest story delves into Asian Americans’ search for a new identity in the 1960s, at a time when the U.S. had defined race in terms of black or white. Lee is a 2018 recipient of the Foundation’s American Mosaic Journalism Prize.

Second Federal Judge Blocks Move to End DACA

“Today’s ruling shows that courts across the country agree that Trump’s termination of DACA was not just immoral, but unlawful as well,” said Karen Tumlin of the National Immigration Law Center, a grantee of the Foundation’s Human Rights program.

New Chapter Begins for Kitt Peak Telescope

The Nicholas U. Mayall Telescope is undergoing “the largest overhaul in its history” in preparation for the installation of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), a new instrument designed to better understand the physics of dark energy. DESI is supported in part by the Foundation’s Science program.
