September Jarrett is a program officer for the Education program of the Heising-Simons Foundation, focusing on policy and systems change in California. September draws on two decades of experience in program and policy development focused on children and families in the public and private sectors. Her experiences include serving as executive director of San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education, as well as program director at the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund. Early in her career, she helped develop the Child Care Facilities Fund of the Low Income Investment Fund, an award winning public-private partnership designed to expand the supply of high-quality early care and education facilities. September holds a master’s degree in public policy from the New School for Social Research and an undergraduate degree in urban studies from San Francisco State University. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two sons.
