Developing Requests: Barbara Chow’s NonProfit Quarterly Article for Grantseekers

“Of all the challenges grantseekers face, one of the most consequential is figuring out the right amount to request of a foundation,” Barbara Chow, director of the Foundation’s Education program, writes in a new article published in NonProfit Quarterly in January 2020.

Co-written with Ruth E. Levine, a policy fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, “How Much Should I Ask For? 10 Points of Consideration for Foundation Grantees” aims to help grantseekers be better prepared as they develop a budget request. The article outlines ten considerations that foundation staff think about when assessing the right amount to fund for a particular project or general support grant.
