DREME Launches Free Math Resources for Teacher Educators

The Development and Research in Early Math Education (DREME) Network has launched DREME TE, a new website with free early math resources for teacher educators.

In a blog post, DREME member and UCLA professor Megan Franke explains that, “DREME TE is designed to be flexible and easy to use. Appropriate for both prospective and practicing teachers, these resources can be used in a variety of settings, from a professional development workshop to part of a general preservice methods course. Teacher educators can pick and choose resources to complement their existing needs.” Please read the rest of Professor Franke’s blog post here.

The DREME Network resides within Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education and is comprised of 12 leading scholars at 11 universities across the United States. In 2014, the Heising-Simons Foundation’s Education program supported the creation of the DREME Network to advance the field of early mathematics research and improve young children’s opportunities to develop math skills. In 2016, the Foundation provided the Network with a $5 million grant to continue its work on four projects that focus on critical aspects of early math education, including teacher-educator professional development. This latest grant brings the Foundation’s total commitment to more than $8 million since the Network’s founding.
